North Carolina Medicaid: End dates corrected on some prior authorizations

In July, the state’s Medicaid system set a 1-day end date for prior authorizations in error. As a result, some enrollees may have experienced a delay in receiving approval for transition of care to prepaid health plans (PHPs).

The state has corrected the error and reissued prior authorizations with the correct date span. As one of the PHPs serving North Carolina Medicaid enrollees, UnitedHealthcare is working closely with NCTracks to ensure updated prior authorization data is sent and captured in our systems. This will help avoid any service disruptions and support continuity of care for members.

What you need to do

Please validate prior authorizations in NCTracks to help ensure member continuity of care.
