Teen directed family planning code changes

UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of NJ will now require HCPS codes for teen directed family planning for claims with date of service on or after Jan. 1, 2023.

Use the following HCPS codes:

• 90203 and modifiers FP 22 for initial/annual teen directed family planning visit
• 99213 and modifier FP 22 for follow up teen direction family planning visit

This includes Family Planning Clinics and may include birth control and counseling for members younger than 21 years of age, regardless of gender.
