To comply with the 21st Century Cures Act and related state requirements, UnitedHealthcare Community Plan of Ohio has implemented an Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) system through Sandata for home- and community-based services.
As part of that compliance, beginning June 1, 2025, we'll deny claims with dates of service on or after June 1, 2025, for the following qualifying state plan home health service codes if we see you didn’t use the EVV platform through Sandata and show proof of the visit within the platform:
If you’re not registered with Sandata, please register immediately by visiting the Sandata EVV Portal page. Once you’re registered, you’ll need to complete the required training to access the EVV platform.
Once you have access to the EVV platform, you’ll need to show proof of the applicable visit within the system. It’s also important to make sure the details of the visit match the claim details to avoid any claim denials.
Visit the Ohio Department of Medicaid website to find educational opportunities such as fact sheets, past webinars, schedule a help session or read frequently asked questions and EVV newsletters.
