Participation required: Provider Appointment Availability Survey

Between August and December 2026, selected California providers may be contacted to participate in the Provider Appointment Availability Survey (PAAS), an annual assessment required by the California Department of Managed Health Care (DMHC).

If you are selected, participation is required.

Sutherland Healthcare Solutions (Sutherland) administers the survey on behalf of participating health plans, including UnitedHealthcare.

What you need to do

If selected, Sutherland will contact you by email, fax or phone with your assigned survey window and instructions.

The survey takes less than 10 minutes to complete. It asks for the next available appointment date and time for urgent, nonurgent and follow-up care.

You must complete the survey during your assigned survey window.

To help ensure a timely response, please make sure office staff responsible for scheduling and appointment availability are aware of this upcoming survey and are prepared to participate if contacted.

Please note: If you are contacted by more than one health plan, you are required to complete a survey for each request you receive.

If you don’t participate

Failure to respond may negatively affect your compliance with state and UnitedHealthcare contractual requirements.
