Introducing new care settings in My Practice Profile and Onboard Pro

Created to support accuracy for claims, credentialing and directories, especially for nontraditional and virtual providers

When adding or updating a location in Onboard Pro or My Practice Profile, selecting the correct care setting(s) plays an important role in how we set up and use your address information. That’s why we’ve added new care settings to help ensure accuracy across claims processing, provider directory listings and credentialing and contracting workflows.

About care settings

Care settings describe how and where care is delivered. We offer the following options:

  • Office or clinic
  • Mobile health clinic
  • Virtual
  • Hospital or inpatient facility
  • Home-based care
  • Remote diagnostics

Choosing the option(s) that best reflect your care model allows us to correctly determine whether an address should be used for billing, place of service or both.

Virtual and nontraditional care providers

For those who deliver care without a traditional physical location, such as virtual only, mobile or certain community-based models, care setting selection may trigger a remote billing address. This designation helps ensure claims are processed correctly and prevents non-physical addresses from appearing in the provider directory as in-person locations.

Choosing the right care setting(s)

Selecting all applicable care settings is especially important if care is delivered in multiple environments. Doing so helps:

  • Configure addresses accurately
  • Support nontraditional care models
  • Ensure your information stays aligned if your care delivery changes
